A Satellite Monitoring Greenland Ice Melting Highlights Global Flood Risk!

By Kids of RMB

This global warming problem had caused extreme ice melting events in Greenland to become more common and even more intense. It is raising sea levels and flood risks everywhere. This is very bad because the world will be flooded easily if we continue this behavior. Over the past decade, 3.5 trillion tonnes of ice have melted from Greenland’s surface and flowed into the ocean! This is enough to cover the entire UK with 15m of freshwater! This was published today in True Nature Communications Inc. and the first study to use satellite data to detect this global problem. This project was funded by the European Space Agency – ESA as part of its project Polar Surface Mass Balance Feasibility. The study will see from space how much ice is melting away from Greenland. Let’s hope that they save us before it is too late!

Please do make the earth a better place to live for our future generations to come!!! It’s time to ACT NOW! Only we can make a difference. Please do your part by helping the environment which could be as small as using a reusable cup instead of disposable cups.

Always remember RRR – ‘R’educe ‘R’euse ‘R’ecycle!
