Recycle My Battery Blog

Let’s talk about lithium-ion batteries in Cell phones!

By Kids of RMB

Lithium-ion batteries are a type of rechargeable battery! These kinds of batteries are found in the modern-day technology which we use! Usually, these batteries can last for 3 – 4 years before they HAVE to be replaced! If you try to make them work they can get puffed up which has a higher chance of exploding. Overcharging on old phones is a big problem! New phones like the iPhone 12 have good technology which makes the iPhone stop ✋ charging after the battery percentage reaches 100 percent! But, for old phones, these batteries can explode or stop working when the phone is overcharged. So you have to handle cellphone batteries properly because these batteries are very dangerous and have toxins to pollute our earth! So after you replace this old battery with a new one, make sure to recycle it properly by putting it in a battery bin with terminal protection!

Please do take care of the earth as you take care of yourself!!
