2 million children worldwide are developing asthma because of pollution!

By Kids of RMB

In large cities like NYC, traffic pollution is making 2 million people get admitted into the hospital every year! The study is the first to estimate the burden of asthma cases caused by these pollutants in 13,000 cities from LA to Mumbai.

“Our study found that nitrogen oxide from cars puts children at risk of developing asthma and the problem is very severe in urban areas”, said Susan Anenberg from The George Washington University! Nitrogen oxide or NO2 is a harmful gas that comes from the tailpipes of cars. Asthma is a chronic illness that causes inflammation of the lungs 🫁 which blocks the airway!

In Singapore, they have a proven process to convert the harmful gases from the incineration plant to clean air. I have covered it in one of my earlier LinkedIn posts. If we can bring this concept to cars by attaching a device to the tailpipes, we could still continue using gasoline cars and they would emit only clean air with the help of that device! If you know of any invention like that, please do let me know in the comments section.

Let’s hope that some environment-related inventor out there will come up with an invention like this to save our environment and make our mother earth a better place to live for our future generations to come.
