Volcano Cumbre Vieja started erupting in the Canary Islands!

In La Palma, the Canary Islands, a volcano called Cumbre Vieja started erupting. A month has passed since the volcano started erupting! Volcanoes emit poisonous gases such as sulfur dioxide which is a pungent gas that reacts with O2 and moisture in the air to produce a haze called vog. Because of the volcano, the ash and volcanic gases on La Palma surprisingly increased! Lava flows destroyed more than 2000 homes and hundreds of hectares of farmland since September 2021! So the atmosphere of La Palma is just volcanic gases!

Let’s hope things settle down in La Palma soon and the gases from the volcano which are emitted disappear making the life of the people better there on the island.
