April 2022 Tied As Earth’s Fifth-Warmest!

By Kids of RMB

Asia saw its warmest April on record!

April was very warm throughout the globe! For example in my place, the highest temperature was 86 F. This temperature is not standard in April in my place. This month is tied as the fifth-warmest April in a 143-year climate record. NOAA scientists found this data. These NOAA scientists found out that the month of March also contributed to the warmth of April.

The average global temperature in April of 2022 was 1.53 degrees F (0.85 degrees C) above the 20th century average of 56.7 degrees F which is also 13.7 degrees C. This record is tied with the April 2010 record as the 5th warmest April on record.

Asia had its most warmest April on record dating back to 1910. The temperature in the month of April was 4.72 degrees F above average. Usual high temperatures in India and Pakistan contributed to the excessive heat across Asia.
