The Consequences Of Climate Change In The Alps are Visible From Space!

By Kids of RMB

Global warming has a particularly pronounced impact on the Alpine region.

Like the Arctic, this European Mountain range is becoming greener. Researchers from the University of Lausanne and the University of Basel have now used satellite data to show the vegetation increasing by about 80% in the alps. This means that the snow cover on the mountains is decreasing. Just like the Arctic.

Melting Glaciers are a symbol of climate change in the Alps mountain range. This reduction of the snow cover is now already visible from outer space. This means that it has had a big change in the alps. This conclusion was made by Professors Sabine Rumpf from the University of Basel, Grégoire Mariéthoz, and Professor Antoine Guisan from the University of Lausanne.

From 1984 to 2021, vegetation has increased 70% in the alps! We should stop climate change to bring the ice back to the alps and also save the arctic. Please remember that there is no Planet B! We have to make sure that our future generation enjoys nature like we are doing now!
