Harvard-backed startup develops a game-changing EV battery that charges in 3 minutes and lasts 20 years.
A new Harvard startup named Adden Energy has developed a new kind of battery meant for electric cars which could charge in only 3 minutes and lasts more than twice the current EV batteries! This battery could last more than 20 years! Really impressive for a startup developing the battery!
This startup has so far received more than 5.15 million dollars in funding to help continue the idea of this revolutionary game-changing battery. This technology got an exclusive license from Harvard’s Office of Technology Development. The funding for the startup was led by Primavera Capital Group, with participation by Rhapsody Venture Partners and MassVentures.
The startup will presently propel the innovation after effectively showing a coin-cell model with 5,000-10,000 cycles in a lifetime — as against 2,000 to 3,000 charging cycles for the top-tier batteries as of now. As per the startup, the quick advancement of clean energy stockpiling innovation is basic.
Let’s hope that they will be successful and revolutionize the technology which would eventually reduce EV battery waste to make our earth a better place to live.
