How Kevin Kumala created an eco-friendly bag to save our environment!

By Kids of RMB

Today we are going to talk about how Kevin Kumala created an eco-friendly bag after being concerned about our environment!

Kevin Kumala was worried about the future of beaches and marine life around his island of Bali. He identified the plastic bag as one of the biggest threats to ocean ecosystems as it could kill sea life and trap and severely injure fish. Rather than stopping humans by using all plastic bags as it is very hard, he founded an organization called AVANI Eco to create eco-friendly plastic bags to stop using plastic bags to save our environment! On this biodegradable bag, it clearly says: “I AM NOT PLASTIC!” These bags are made of cassava roots and natural starches. It is very safe that it doesn’t harm an animal when it consumes it like how plastic does!

This is very useful because plastic is not biodegradable! Plastic cannot break down and it would take up to 1000 years for it to break down! We better make inventions like this so we could divert people from using plastic products to using items like Kevin’s! Let’s collectively make our Earth a better place to live for our future generations to come!!! As I always say, change should start with us even if it’s a small change. There is no Planet B!
