Let’s Learn About How Natural Gas Is Ignited And The Moon Titan’s Natural Gas!

By Kids of RMB

Natural gas is a type of gas which is used in a variety of things like stoves! Methane and Ethane are colorless gas that is used to create natural gas. In a stove, the Methane and Ethane are merged together by their atoms and this creates a flame in your stove! Just note that these gases are fossil fuels and they are slowly running out. Plus, these gases are bad for the environment. Let’s find out how exactly scientists plan on getting more Natural Gas!

Titan is one of Saturn’s biggest moons roughly 752,000 miles away from Saturn. On this moon, a probe called Cassini discovered a miracle! There were liquid Methane / Ethane lakes on the surface. Some of these lakes were bigger than Lake Superior in Northern USA / Southern Canada. These lakes are found everywhere on the moon. Because of the extreme coldness on this moon, the gases have been turned into liquid. So since the natural gases are running out, scientists planned on harvesting this liquid on Titan and bringing them back to earth. On earth, the liquid will become a gas as it is hot on earth.

One could become the richest person on the planet for harvesting this liquid! But still, it is bad for the environment! Let’s find a better alternative to natural gas before it is too late! Our goal should be to make our earth a better place to live for our future generations to come. They need to enjoy the planet like we are doing now.
