Let’s talk about the Supervolcano!

By Kids of RMB

Today we are going to talk about Super Eruptions!

Most volcanoes worldwide fall into 3 categories! A stratovolcano, Cinder come and a shield volcano! But there is a 4th type of volcano and that is called a Supervolcano! It is estimated that 5-10 volcanoes globally are supervolcanoes! If these volcanoes erupt, it will be very damaging to our planet! Millions of pounds of CO2 and Ash would go into the air damaging the atmosphere and will add on to global warming! Also, it is capable enough to damage small countries to whole entire continents! Some volcanic rock that is produced before eruption is used by scientists to see if a supervolcano will erupt! Let’s hope it will not erupt because if it does, it will damage the entire earth and further destroy it because of the CO2 in the air! The air would become poisonous as well after a super eruption!

Please do make our earth a better place to live for our future generations to come!!!
