Greenhouse gases are one of the many reasons that there even is climate change. According to https://justenergy.com/ “We use natural gas as an energy source more than any other fuel. As the fastest growing and cleanest burning fossil fuel, natural gas is responsible for nearly one-third of our total energy demand and almost one-quarter of our electricity generation. “ The four main types of greenhouse gasses are methane, ethane, butane, and propane.
Methane is a colorless, odorless, and flammable gas which is the main constituent of greenhouse gasses. It is also said to be the simplest member of the alkane series of hydrocarbons. Ethane is also colorless, odorless just like Methane but this is only when the gas is put under standard pressure and temperature. Also like methane, ethane is a hydrocarbon. Butane is a gas when it is at room temperature. Butane is also highly flammable and colorless just like Methane and Ethane. Butane is an easily liquefied gas that quickly vaporizes at room temperature. Propane is known as a three-carbon alkane gas. When it is stored under pressure inside a tank, it is a colorless, odorless liquid.
All of these 4 greenhouse gases are odorless and colorless. They are also very harmful to the environment but there is a solution. According to https://www.sciencedirect.com “The mix of CO2, CO, and H2 from the top gas is sent to the gas separation plant to remove CO2 and to recover CO and H2, which can be recycled back into the furnace and reused as reducing agents.”
So with this, we can save the environment by recycling natural gases. This does not mean that we can use natural gasses all the time. We can only reuse the natural gases and that still will harm the environment but not as much as non-reused gasses. We can save the environment and the Earth by recycling and doing our part to help the Earth.
