Future of palm trees!

By Kids of RMB

Today we are going to talk about the future of palm trees!

When you think of Florida, the only thing which comes to mind is palm trees right? But did you know that they absorb only 5 pounds of CO2 every year! Wow! That is why Florida is planning on replacing those trees and putting trees such as oaks which absorb the most type of CO2! They absorb like 12,000 pounds of CO2 in their lifetime! According to scientists, the climate change condition was this bad like 800,000 years ago and if we don’t do anything about this, the temperature will get very hot and climate change will be unstoppable! A typical passenger vehicle emits more than 10,000 pounds of CO2! So we need good types of trees like oaks and pine cones which will absorb most of the CO2 emitted!

Let’s hope we do this to make our earth a better place to live for our future generations to come!
