Tonga volcano eruption blamed for the huge oil spill in Peru

By Kids of RMB

Remember how yesterday, we talk about the Tonga eruption! Well, that caused a major incident in Peru!

After a tsunami washed up on the coasts of Peru, a major oil spill was caused! 6000+ barrels of crude oil were spilled into the ocean! This caused so much marine life to die including fish, birds, etc! Images on social media showed beaches blacked-out and all of the water and marine life also blacked-out! This oil spill was described as the worst ecological disaster to hit a country with so many deaths of both flora and fauna! Peru demanded an environmental emergency after this major incident! Right now, workers are still trying to clean up this spill and they are cleaning up the beaches! This incident could face up a fine of 34.4 million dollars! Let’s hope that the spill gets cleaned up and the beaches of Peru get better like before!

Please become an environmentalist to make our Mother Earth a better place to live for future generations to come!!! There is no planet B and change should start from us!
